Described as Nepalese, Indo-Chinese, and Indian Cuisine, Himalayan is a welcomed addition to the hookah infiltrated block on Steinway Street. As a Little Egypt resident I enjoyed Himalayan not only for the food but the convenience and friendly wait staff.
I tried the pad thai and garlic naan while my friend had the pineapple fried rice and tandoori chicken. The portions at Himalayan are very large as we were overwhelmed with food. The pineapple fried rice was the favorite dish of the night with great flavor. The pad thai was not the traditional dish you’d find in a thai restaurant and was very heavy with sauce but still enjoyable. Garlic naan is always a great addition to any meal.
I would recommend Himalayan if you live close by as an alternative to the great restaurants that already exist closeby (Duzan, Kebab Cafe, Sabry’s). The atmosphere is nice and you can pop into Coldstone next door for dessert.
