Tucked away on 34th Ave, Mars is the ultimate date spot. Voted by NewYork.com as a top 10 contender for the “most romantic spot in NYC,” the vintage interior and smooth drinks are sure to wow your date. Mars was kind enough to invite a small group of taste testers in to try their summer menu. My favorite was the zucchini salad, a refreshing plate garnished with mint and lemon which really hit the spot. The raw salmon garnished with mixed greens was also very good. The most enjoyable part of the menu is that the dishes are light and will not leave you feeling heavy or guilty.
Mars is especially known for it’s drinks. The bartenders craft strong yet delicious drinks with unique ingredients. We were also treated to oysters, another staple of the restaurant. I would highly recommend Mars for date night with your significant other on a breezy summer evening (outside seating is also available). Start your evening at Museum of the Moving Image for the ultimate Queens date.
